London-bound Plane Catches Fire At Las Vegas Runway

The 157 passengers were already seated aboard the British Airways Flight 2276 for their 10-hour flight from Las Vegas to London when a loud boom rocked the aircraft.

Smoke and ash started pouring out of the plane's left side engine, which had caught fire. Passengers immediately fled down the emergency slides and safely ran across the tarmac.

Despite the turmoil and confusion, the plane was evacuated within minutes, and some passengers even left their luggage behind...(I don't blame them at all).

Most of the injuries sustained by the 14 wounded passengers were from the emergency slides and they were taken to the hospital where they were treated and then released.

Clark County Deputy Fire Chief said that the cause of the fire is still unknown but that the fire didn't breach the cabin.

British airways said that it is providing passengers with hotels and whatever they may need, and all added that the safety of its customers and it crew is top priority.
